Suicide prevention and coping techniques are vitally important.

In the United States suicide is the second leading cause of death of individuals between ages 10 and 34, and it is the fourth leading cause of death of individuals from 35 to 44.

Half of these suicides are from firearms!

If you are depressed there’s help available. If you’re depressed, you shouldn’t be trusting yourself when it comes to firearms. A lot of people are passionate about guns, but we are not talking about rights. We are talking about mental health status while having a gun. It is unwise to possess a firearm when you’re depressed.

There are many situations in which it’s not a good idea to trust yourself when you are depressed. For example, if someone is married in a monogamous relationship and they are traveling for business and a woman from the hotel begins flirting with them, they should not trust that situation. The moment they think nothing would ever happen is the moment they let down their guard and anything can happen.

It’s the same thing for someone who places themselves in a potentially harmful situation. The moment they say, “I would never do that”, but are also thinking about doing it they are lying to themselves. They could and there’s a possibility they will. If you’re thinking about committing suicide, take time to realize that someone’s going to walk in and find your body. This is going to traumatize them!

If you want the pain to stop there are resources!
