Life hack: Decision making tips
Do you struggle with decision making?
Does part of you think you should do something, and the other part thinks that you shouldn’t?
Here is something that may help!
Decision making is very difficult if you keep interrupting yourself. Imagine two people talking to you at the same time, you are likely to not comprehend what both are saying. That is what your subconscious is doing when it is feeding your brain information, one part of you is saying one thing and the other part of you is saying another. This can get overwhelming, so a lot of times people are quick to just decide without having listened to their thoughts or emotions, and many times they may end up regretting their decision.
How do get out of this cycle?
Silence part of yourself so that you can effectively focus on one, this is also called weighing the pros and cons. After you weigh one side of the decision and have written down the points take a break, come back to your thoughts later to then weight the other side of the decision, and write down the points. After you have written down both sides of the decision you take a break, later come back, and go over what you wrote for both sides and make your decision.
This can help you feel more confident in the decision you make because you took the time to listen to both parts of yourself and consider your option. This can be helpful when you are feeling torn between options.
