DO YOU HAVE DID?
Do you have DID or dissociative identity disorder?
If you’re wondering if you have multiple personalities or dissociative identity disorder, I will say that it is common for people to recognize different aspects of who they are, different part of their personalities. Of course, you’re going to act different in a romantic scenario versus a church scenario.
Different parts of your personality are going to be forward, that’s how we’re set up that’s natural. However, if there’s memory gaps and you lose hours it would be a good idea to see someone and see if something is going on. To see if there are things that are problematic or if you’re just aware of the different parts of who you are.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being aware of who you are so don’t be concerned. If you are aware that there’s a different aspect or side to who you are that awareness is healthy. I would argue that’s natural for any of us to have different parts. Most people are not aware of the different sides of who they are. They see themselves as unitary and they experience emotions like bittersweet conflicting things at the same time.
How can that be if it’s on the same scale? Well, they’re two different scales or two different things being experienced at once. This can present a little bit of an argument there for a multiple personality type of experience. If you got off tick tock and you think oh no, I’ve got this disorder oh just know that tick tock can be a little bit like WebMD.
As a people we can identify with things and think that it is a sign that we have thing. Not to diagnose you but I will say that the awareness of different parts of you is absolutely healthy. If you are concerned, if there’s reasons for concern, please see someone who can diagnose you and help resolve those concerns.
