What does diaphragmatic breathing mean?

There’s a small exercise that is considered a treatment for anxiety. This is a small quick thing that can be done on your own on a regular basis. This one thing this one thing has been shown to decrease anxiety it’s called diaphragmatic breathing.

 

Most of the time people well a lot of people breathe with their chest, however, you can also breathe with your belly. If you learn how to breathe with your belly, there’s a lot of things that happen like the blood oxygen level. The ratio from that to carbon dioxide, and how it affects your nervous system.

 

Learning how to breathe with you belly has a ton of weird benefits.

So how does one learn then to breathe with their belly or rather how does one learn diaphragmatic breathing? Breathing with their diaphragm? An easy way is to put a hand on your chest, and a hand on your belly, and then practice breathing so the hand on your belly moves. If you’re able to do it so that the hand on your belly is moving and the hand on your chest, isn’t you mastered the technique.

Sometimes this helps someone in the moment so just doing this helps them calm down. Breathing techniques are known to do that when someone is having a panic attack or anxiety attack.

 

There’s research showing that people that do this regularly for a couple months reduce overall anxiety. When we use this muscle practice diaphragmatic breathing, it becomes more of the norm people began breathing differently and become more in a relaxed state. It changes our overall homeostasis, and we feel better and less anxious.
